I bought the Milliard 12 inch wedge pillow first because I wanted a lot of elevation, and it was beautiful and Maybe perfect for some people but for me it turned out to be much too tall and way too firm and I could not Sleep at all on it So I returned it and went looking for one that was Shorter and Softer. This one cost about ten dollars more than other similar wedge pillows, but the reviews for it were more consistantly positive so opted for it based on that.
This pillow is much softer than the Milliard but still provides adequate support. I use a foam pillow on top of if for my head and neck so the elevation is fine. Taller is too close to sitting upright and that's not good for sleeping. I got this because I have a hiatal hernia so to alleviate heartburn.
I sleep on this every night and think I made a good choice. I put a towel over it to Keep it clean.
