My initial impressions came from the warning on the label "consuming this product can expose you to chemicals known to the state of california to cause cancel". No, I didn't type that wrong. It doesn't say it causes cancer, it says it causes cancel. Its tempting to make a joke about celebrities getting "canceled", but lets keep this review on topic. After a bit of googling, it seems that rice absorbs contaminants worse than other common grains consumed for food. So this is a problem with virtually all rice, including a lot of rice grown in the US. Since I do on occasion eat rice at a restaurant or other place where I can't study the label, I'm sure I've eaten a lot of rice that at some point in its packaging had a similar label. Unless you're giving up rice, it seems silly to get excited about this warning. So - moving on.I'm familiar with the crunchy "rice cakes" but this is the first time I've had chewy ones. The first thing I did is ate one straight out of the package. I wasn't impressed. It was chewy to the point of being rubbery. There was nothing objectionable about it, but nothing appealing either. So then they sat in the cabinet for a few weeks. My wife made some stir fry this evening for dinner, and as I was about to dish some up, I thought of these. So I threw some in. The stir fry was done. It would have been better to have them throughout the cooking, but what can I say? It was an afterthought! I tossed them in as the stir fry stopped boiling. They sat in there in the pan for maybe 5 minutes, then I ate them. That was nice. Instead of being overly rubbery, it was more like a slightly chewy noodle. In just 5m they took on some flavor from the stir fry, and were a great addition. So in the end, I'm giving it 4 stars.

Okay, so like the package says, it does have a bit of a strange smell when you open the package, but it cooks out, and they taste great. I love them; they are a good deal and taste amazing, crunchy, and chewy when you fry them up.

These Korean Rice Cakes are truly delicious!

As a lover of tteokbokki and rice cake soup, I was thrilled to find these gluten-free, vegan, and non-GMO options. With each bite, you get to enjoy the sought-after chewy texture that Korean rice cakes are known for. The fact that they come in individual packs is a great bonus as it ensures freshness and convenience.

I wholeheartedly give these rice cakes a 5-star rating and highly recommend them to every Korean cuisine lover out there.

We love rice cakes and these were great! No problems with spoilage, they were nicely packaged and looked and smelled normal. It's convenient to have three individual packets within the large pack. There are recipes on the pack but they're pretty vague, so it would be better to use your own. I added them to a Japanese curry and they cooked quickly and just as you'd want - chewy and flavorful from the sauce. You could probably get them cheaper at a local Asian grocery store, but this isn't a bad price for the convenience of ordering online.

The KC Commerce Tteokbokki Stick is a quick and easy way to fulfill your Squid Game cheap eats cravings. The tteokbokki cooks up as quickly as a bag of instant ramen, has a great chew to it, and comes in a convenient three-pack set so you can share...if you choose. The tteokbokki does not come with any sauce packs, so if you want to make it a meal, you will need to either make your own sauce or have a ready-made powder. I luckily have plenty of tteokbokki powder mix, and when paired with the rice cakes, it took less than 5 minutes to assemble. If you want to make it a meal, you can toss in some spring onions, hard-boiled eggs, fish tofu, and sesame seeds, although it's perfectly fine to eat on its own. As far as tteokbokki goes, this is a good quality pack to pick up, and it's so convenient because it's shelf stable and doesn't require any refrigeration or freezing. Overall, if you're looking for just the tteokbokki rice cakes, this is an excellent option to consider.

We found this Korean rice cake very easy to prepare and season to our liking. The bag had a couple of recipes, but we decided to create our own based on them. The rice cake itself had no flavor, but it had a good chewy and bouncy texture that we really enjoyed. It would pair well with any sauce you choose for your dish. If you need more ideas, YouTube offers many delicious and authentic Korean rice cake recipes. It does not require refrigeration for storage. Overall, we enjoyed these rice cake sticks, and they make a great addition to any dish.

Tastes great when made with a recipe. You definitely need to add it to a sauce since it has basically no flavor by itself.

No, I'm not exaggerating. Look at the photos on my review.

One of my packages has mold inside while the other two both have mysterious black specks. The ingredients are rice, water, and salt, yet it has a prop 65 cancer ("cancel") warning. Expiration date is six and a half months away (August 2024).

I can't say anything about the taste, because these are going straight in the trash where they belong.

    Product of China.
