I really enjoyed this product. The vanilla smell is strong, but not overpowering. The butter is very rich, very creamy, and definitely coats the skin. I recommend using this immediately after a bath or shower to lock in your skin's moisture. Similarly, I used this often after washing my hands, and it felt very protective.
This is the kind of product that I like in particular in the dry winters where I live. I don't think I'd use this product too much during the summer, when my skin is oilier and sweatier and I use more light-weight products. And I definitely would not put this on my face - my face is especially sensitive to occlusive ingredients.
I also like the way the jar looks, and am glad to support a fair trade product.

Thick and creamy
This shea body butter comes in an attractive tub with a wood top. The tub is safety sealed and there were no issues with leakage.The body butter itself is thick and creamy and feels good going on. I applied to my legs and about an hour later they still felt slightly slick from the butter.The vanilla scent is very nice and mild.

Upon ordering this body butter I saw that it was Shea butter, and I've always had great results with butters that contain this ingredient. Not thinking twice, I ordered...and once I received it, my experience just went downhill from here.
The "Shea butter" version in the white jar/white lid smells absolutely horrendous! I now see that it's listed as "Unscented" - one would think that if there was actually Shea butter in the formula, that it would smell like Shea - but it doesn't. I can't even fully articulate the smell of this butter - it's a flat, chemical smelling scent with an undertone of rottenness.
The butter IS whipped and thick - but again, when using "good" body butter, you can easily feel the "butter"/oils when and after applying. This brand does not have this feeling at all - it feels more watery than oily, and once it dries on your skin, there is no buttery/oily sheen leftover at all either. The butter fully evaporates, and it does not hydrate my skin beyond the initial 2-3 mins or so after applying it.
Given the cost of this jar in relation to the low formula quality and lack of nourishing/moisturizing results, I recommend trying another brand and product instead - I do not recommend purchasing this one.
