About this item
- 【60% Compact Layout】 The CIDOO QK61 V2 keyboard features a 60% compact layout, perfect for portability and convenience. Despite the absence of these keys, the QK61 V2 compensates with efficient shortcuts, ensuring you have all necessary functions at your fingertips.
- 【VIA Programmable】 Enhance your compact keyboard experience with VIA programmability. The QK61 V2, despite its compact size, offers powerful customization options through the VIA software. With VIA, you can remap keys, create macros, and manage backlighting settings, tailoring the keyboard to your specific needs and preferences.
- 【Tri-Mode Connectivity with 3000mAh Battery】 Designed with portability in mind, the QK61 V2 wireless keyboard offers wired, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth connectivity. Switching between different modes is effortless with a switch located next to the USB port. The 3000mAh battery ensures long-lasting performance, reducing the need for frequent charging and enhancing your mobile experience.
- 【Thocky-Poppy Typing Experience】 The CIDOO QK61 V2 thocky keyboard is engineered for an enjoyable typing experience. With five layers of sound-improving materials, including sandwich foam, PET sound-improving film, IXPE switch pad, bottom foam, and silicone pad, the QK61 V2 delivers a satisfying thocky yet poppy typing feel. These materials eliminate unwanted noise, making typing both fun and satisfying.
- 【PC Plate and Gasket Structure】 Featuring a polycarbonate (PC) plate, the QK61 V2 mechanical keyboard provides a flexible and deep-sounding typing experience. Unlike aluminum or steel plates, the PC plate enhances the thocky, poppy sound profile, providing a less harsh bottom-out experience when typing. The gasket mount isolates the switches from the case, offering vibration dampening and sound reduction. Combined with finely tuned plate mount stabilizers, the QK61 ensures long typing sessions are comfortable and fatigue-free.
- 【Hotswappable PCB Compatible with 3-Pin/5-Pin Switches】 The QK61 V2 includes a hotswappable PCB, allowing you to easily swap out your favorite switches. Compatible with most 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches, including Cherry, Gateron, Otemu, Kailh, and MX clones, the QK61 comes standard with CIDOO Pearl White Linear Switches. These pre-lubed switches, with a 40g actuation force, are perfect for both typing and gaming.
- 【Cherry Profile Double Shot PBT Keycaps with Transparent PC Keycaps】 The QK61 V2 comes with Cherry profile double shot PBT keycaps, known for their durability and oil resistance. Additionally, two transparent PC keycaps add a fun touch to the keyboard's minimalist aesthetic.
- 【South-Facing LEDs】 The south-facing LED design allows light to shine through the bottom of the keycaps, creating a vibrant and uniform backlighting effect. This design enhances the overall appearance of the keyboard, making it visually appealing in any setup.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2024Color: BlackVerified PurchaseThis is my second keyboard from Mechlands. I love the look of this one and the sound is pretty great too. I'm still pretty new to keyboards and have a budget so this product appealed to me. I would recommend this keyboard is you want to test out the hobby without spending too much money.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 3, 2024So, today marks the first time I am reviewing a CIDOO-related keyboard and this time, I am reviewing the CIDOO QK61 VIA Programmable 60% Compact Keyboard. CIDOO is a company consisting of mechanical keyboard enthusiasts and exploring popular trends and creative artistry.
The company launched in 2010, jointly developing a pressure-senstive and hot-swappable split structure with a Holland team. Their goal was to lessen the signal transmission and they became popular among university students.
If anything, the company prides itself on making the world’s fastest mechanical keyboard. Whether or not this is fact or just a boast, I don’t know. But all I can say is that I’m looking forward to testing out this mechanical keyboard.
MechLands is a company that sells a company’s keyboard that showcases the art and technology of all gaming peripherals for companies all around the world. So, this is their CIDOO product they are promoting.
Priced at around $60, you are getting a 60% compact keyboard that features tri-mode, comes with a 3000 mAh battery which is great. Software allows this keyboard to become customizable, including remapping keys, creating macros, managing backlight settings and more.
It’s important to note that they keyboard is offered in white with the blue translucent keys or black with pink translucent keys.
It is important to note that the Whiteberry VIA software is not located on the cidootech[dot]com or MechLands websites. It’s available on github.com. Just be careful as Github is not the most safest place to download software.
I found the keyboard on the MechLands website, but still no luck in finding which software to use or where to download it.
But the company prides itself on the thocky-poppy typing experience. It is a bit loud, despite having five layers of foam. But those who like brown switch type of mechanical keyboards but with a little of that blue key click, will dig this mechanical keyboard.
The escape and enter key has a translucent blue keycap, but extra keycaps are included, if you want to make it all white.
As for the keycaps, the company does use Cherry Profile Double Shot PBT keycaps and transparent PC keycaps.
The mechanical keyboard also uses south-facing LED design, so you can see the lighting show up under the keycaps.
With that being said, what are my feelings about this tri-mode 60% keyboard?
For one, I liked the fact that it’s tri-mode (Bluetooth, 2.4 Ghz wireless via receiver and wired), I like the fact that it does feature a gasket structure with layers of foam.
It’s important to note that CIDOO went with a PC (polycarbonate) plate instead of aluminum. So, this mechanical keyboard is quite light.
But last but not least, remember this is a 61% keyboard. Great for those who want to minimize space, but if you are dependent on the number keys or arrow keys, this mechanical keyboard DOES NOT have those keys. So, that’s important to know.
Overall, this is a good mechanical keyboard and I like the aesthetic of it. It works well for a 61% keyboard and those who want less space being utilized by their keyboard, so I can definitely recommend the MechLands CIDOO QK61 VIA Programmable 60% Compact Keyboard.
Recommended!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2024While mechanical keyboards are more popular than ever, not all sizes have enjoyed the same level of attention. The 60% size has been much less popular than the slightly larger 65%, possibly due to the lack of arrow keys. This has resulted in a general lack of new 60% keyboard offerings from various makers (often in favor of the more popular 65% or 75% sizes). So, while most 65% or larger keyboards have been receiving phenomenal upgrades—like enhanced sound padding or VIA compatibility—many classic 60% boards are starting to look a bit dated and neglected.
I am in favor of smaller keyboards (I prefer a 40% ortholinear VIA/GMK board), provided that they have key remapping functionality, something that's still somewhat lacking on 60% boards. The Cidoo QK61 is rarer than its simple, plain design might suggest, by combining tri-mode connectivity, VIA compatibility, and a 60% form factor.
Likes:
--Simple and no-frills. Classy without logos. The overall build is actually quite solid, with very thick casing plastic and thick doubleshot keycaps. It maybe plastic, but it feels fairly solid and well made.
--It sounds great. It has a thoccy/marble/mahjong sound that belies its plain appearance and relative affordability. It achieves a sound quality that people often pay much more to get on custom keyboards, and Cidoo offers most of it at a fraction of the cost. I'm impressed that a keyboard at this price range can achieve this good of a sound signature. A few years ago, this would have been bewildering. Even today, it's better than some "famous brand" keyboards with little or no sound treatment. "Budget boards" just keep getting better.
--VIA programmability. It's always a plus to have platform-independent customization software. VIA is also extremely powerful and customizable. This matters even more on a smaller keyboard with fewer keys, where multiple layers and macros become more important. If you know how to use it to your advantage, a smaller keyboard with less finger travel can actually be faster, more ergonomic and more effective than a larger board with distant keys, not to mention the obvious savings in desktop space.
--The "5 layers of padding" include a poron plate/PCB sandwich foam, an IXPE pad, followed by a PET film on the PCB, another foam layer below the PCB, and a silicone layer lining the bottom case. Despite its price, it doesn't skimp on sound treatment, and the crucial silicone layer can be missing on even more expensive boards due to cost-saving measures by "famous brands." Cidoo put money where it mattered, and the QK61 delivers a very satisfying experience out of the box without modifications.
-- The plate gasket mounting feet are apparently made of silicone, not the cheaper poron on some low cost boards. There are 16 of them attached around the polycarbonate switch plate, rather than frame mounted foams with glue on some nominal gasket mount boards. I appreciate this effort.
--I rather liked the semi-translucent black case. To me it looks better than a solid black case, especially with backlighting. They tried to add some flair to the otherwise simple/classic design, and I liked the little touches like the light on the upper left and the transparent escape and enter keys. However, personal tastes may vary. Yet, keycaps are probably the easiest part to customize.
--South-facing LEDs pair perfectly with the included cherry profile keycaps, eliminating interference concerns.
--Stabilizers are plate mounted but quite firmly attached, with minimal rattle.
--Despite its size, it has feet for height adjustments.
Caveats:
--It looks fairly plain. Is that even a fault? It has no LCD, no knobs, and no frills of any kind that have become popular on keyboards these days. Even the keycaps are the rather standard (but functional) cherry profile. In a sea of specialty keycaps and flashy new features, this may seem unremarkable. However, I personally like this minimalist no frills design, especially when upon closer examination that the quality and materials are both excellent.
--Speaking of customizability, the plastic case are fastened by clips, not screws. This is a common trend these days for plastic boards, making it a bit of a chore to open the case. If you are just replacing switch and caps, you don't really have to open up the case, however. Only if you want to mod the padding and internals. I find that with the switches and caps removed it may be easier to open the case.
--Likely as a cost-saving measure, it doesn’t have switches from the usual big names like Gateron or Kailh, but instead features Cidoo’s in-house switches. They aren’t bad, though—they’re factory-lubed, weighed around 45g (similar to the popular Gateron reds), have a shorter bottom-out distance of 3.6mm for a thoccy sound and feel, and use a dual-stage spring for more consistent feedback. It gives a very marbly sound which I actually liked, partly due to the early bottoming out, but possibly also due to materials used. I think they’re good enough to use out of the box. However, if you decide to switch to your favorite switches, I believe it can only improve from there.
It’s incredible what manufacturers can offer for your money these days in the mechanical keyboard space. If you want to try your hand at an even smaller form factor but are afraid of missing important keys and features, a smaller board with VIA can be much more powerful and adaptable than those without it. With VIA compatibility, expert sound treatment, tri-mode connectivity, and a no-frills design that works, QK61 is pretty incredible at this price; it’s keyboards like this that continue to push standards higher and higher year after year.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2024First off yes this is QMK/VIA compatible so that's a big plus in my book. Other than that, this is seriously one of the nicest right out of the box 60 percent boards you are going to find. It puts the bigger names like Razer to shame and shows the quality you can accomplish with attention to detail nowadays. It has a plate mount pcb so you can use some really nice aftermarket stabs, but you don't need them the included ones are actually very nice. The gasket mount structure makes for a smooth typing experience especially paired with the amazing factory lubed switches in this board. Everything is insulated well with no hollow sound or pinging to it. All the different connections work perfectly, and I have had no issues with Bluetooth or 2.4. You will not find a better board at this price point blank period will not happen!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2024Color: WhiteVerified PurchaseGreat keyboard, the key caps seem a bit cheap though! Other than that it’s a pretty good keyboard for the price point.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2024This keyboard has been fantastic for my workflow. It easily connects to my Mac, iPhone, and iPad, making it super convenient when I’m working across multiple devices. It’s lightweight, so I can walk around the office and work at different desks without a hassle. If you need something portable and reliable that can switch between devices seamlessly, this is a great choice!

5.0 out of 5 stars Looks amazing, love the customizability! 60% size takes some getting used to. Linear keys
The media could not be loaded.
One of the most desirable aspects of this keyboard is that it's VIA Programmable! This means you can remap keys if the default settings aren't to your liking and create the combos you want for multimedia key functions and create macros.
I am finding it a bit hard to adjust down from 70% compact keyboard to this 60% compact keyboard. It has eliminated the navigation arrows and FN media keys along the top, although it’s not too hard to learn the key combination for print screen/screenshot (FN + T), refresh F5 (FN + 5) or delete (FN + B).
The stock keys are not backlit through the lettering, it has completely opaque key lettering. The ESC and ENTER keys are wholly transparent. The board is designed with the LEDs “south-facing”, compared to my go-to board which has north-facing LEDs. I do notice the difference as the LEDs are more apparent this way.
The RGB LED lighting is entirely customizable from brightness, light mode effects, speed of effects, etc. I love the variability here – it’s basically too many to count!
LIGHT EFFECTS (for Win):
FN + \| = Toggle between all the different light modes and effects
FN + [{ or ]} = decreases or increases speed of light effect
FN + ;: or ‘” = decrease or backlight hue
FN + ,< or .> = decrease or increase LED brightness
FN + Backspace = Toggle backlight on or off
FN + C or V = decrease of increase color saturation
FN + space bar = resets KB to default settings
I love that this has 2 height and angle adjustable feet to prop the keyboard up – I wish all keyboards had this! They're non-skid so you don't need a desktop mat if you're using it bare, directly on your dekstop.
The connectivity is great with this board as you have the option of connecting via 2.4G USB receiver dongle, Bluetooth 5.0, or wired connection via USB-C on the back. I have to mention that the keyboard has a little built-in housing slot to nest the USB dongle in if you're travelling with this or not availing yourself of this connection option. Not all wireless KBs have this basic feature and I've lost/misplaced dongles for KBs due to the lack.
The 3000mAh capacity wireless keyboard saves battery in Bluetooth and 2.4G mode by turning off the keyboard’s backlight after 5 minutes of no use. It then goes into deep sleep mode after 30 minutes to further save on battery life (re-activated and connected via any key press).
Keyboards can be very YMMV, so this highly customizable board is an attractive option if you like to tweak and fiddle with them to your liking and precise needs. If you don't necessarily want or need all these extra customization options, then this might be a bit overkill and a more basic RGB keyboard might be more than suitable.
