I compared them to a set of my "traditional" plug-in colored LED christmas lights, and these are indistinguishable from the older ones. That was enough to convince my Christmas light-loving husband to order several more sets to prepare for the holidays, and if they hold up for the entire season we will likely donate our old lights and stick with just these!

      If used by manually going out in the rain and pushing the ON/OFF button you can get the light to go ON and OFF reliably. I wanted these for the remote function with the timer option. If the time set for a certain hours and remote used to turn ON/OFF then the lights will come on at a different time than the remote was set for. So now even during the frequent rain we have I put on my rain gear and go out to manually push the ON/OFF button to operate the lights.
      I sent information so supplier asking how to fix the issue. DID NOT GET A REPLY
