    I have 2 different testers this and a cheaper one. I had anothrr brand before but after 5 yersvit died ciuld not replace th battery. I bought this and another one similar to what I had before. The readings on this one is inconsistent. Perhaps better for fish tanks but not for testing filtered drinking water.

    This water tester did what it says.
    I am using this for my aquarium. It does take a few seconds for the ratings to stabilize. I found it much easier to use a small cup and fill it with just enough water so when I leave the tester in the cup, the water is up to the line on the tester. Then I turn on the tester and leave it in the water to get a reading.

    I find these testers to be something of a mystery - it's so hard to know whether they're working or not unless you have access to lab grade equipment to verify. That said - this tester seems to be working OK - it correlates pretty closely to a TDS tester than came with my Zerowater water filter, and to a drop test from my spa test kit. My goal is to be able to quickly verify the pH of my tap water and also the water in my Arctic Spa. I guess only time will tell, but so far it seems to be pretty accurate.

    My one complaint is the "instruction" booklet included. Saying that it's confusing an close to useless is probably giving it too much credit. Luckily, this is a simple device, with only a few buttons, so trial-and-error worked out (I think). I understand the language issues and cost of printing instructions, but how hard/expensive is it to hire a native English speaker to write a page or two of instructions and then provide a download link?
