    At one time, people would travel to mineral springs to "take the waters" for a medical treatment. The first spas developed as housing and adjuvant treatment centers in the mineral spa towns. Just carbonotating regular water, even a spring water, does not match the natural carbonation of a true mineral water. Plastic and cans leach unhealthy contaminants and even carcinogens. Glass bottles preserve the purity.

    Perrier original is a true mineral water and sold in glass bottles. It is sourced in France, and contains natural calcium and other trace minerals and elements, such as potassium. The Nestle carbonated, plastic bottle version is not the same, and does not taste as well. I can tell and feel the difference.

    It is almost impossible to obtain glass bottled Perrier in my area, half an hour's drive, and I need it for health reasons. I only ordered this delivery as I was too ill to go to the store and shift heavy cases of water. Unfortunately, it is 2x as expensive as the in-store price (even including gas and mileage). The delivery was a day later than promised. The packaging was adequate, but not entirely padded, and breakage looked as though it had been narrowly avoided. I am grateful to have my Perrier! (But would pay double in future only for a similar emergency)
