I recently finished putting a greenhouse together to help our plants better weather the coming winter. Even so we do have freezes in south Texas so additional protection is needed. I have a 1500 Watt space heater but its thermostat is inadequate for the job. I could have used the TC816 but for 3 bux more I get many more control options with the TC818. Functionally it rates 5 stars, but there are some detractors. The instructions are overly complex and can be confusing while the actual use and setup are quite straight forward. The wires from the controller to the temperature sensor are stiff with thin insulation and no way to replace the sensor if it breaks. The package includes a small plastic cylinder - the purpose of which was unclear (until seeing the very last line of the instructions listing this as the 'reset tool'). Unlike the listing this item will Not control 3680 Watts in the US (1800 Watts per the manual), only in Europe with 230 Volt power.
Bottom line - This is the best available for the job, I would buy it again and I do recommend it, but it could easily be better.
